Marc Tenney - Attorney in Saint Petersburg, FL

About The Attorney

I was born in Newark, New Jersey. I attended the University of Miami and obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in June, 1973. I earned my Law Degree from Stetson University College of Law (FL) in May, 1976. I was admitted to the Florida Bar in November, 1976. I established my own law office in 1978. My practice of law is primarily in the areas of family law plus probate, which includes preparing wills and trusts and the administration of estates. My family law practice includes dissolution/divorce, establishment of parenting plans including all time sharing (custody) aspects regarding minor children, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, domestic violence injunctions (restraining orders), paternity actions plus modification of prior family law judgments.
I am a member of the Florida Bar and the St. Petersburg Bar Association, being involved in each of said organization's family law sections. I have been a member of Canakaris Inns of Court which is a professional organization devoted to the continuing legal education and improvement of all aspects of family law. Canakaris is comprised of family law judges, attorneys and various other experts in the field of family law. I have in the past and continue presently to consult with numerous individuals referred by COMMUNITY ACTION STOPS ABUSE (CASA), assisting them in their difficult family law matters emanating from domestic violence issues.
I strongly believe it is imperative to provide my clients with an honest and objective evaluation of their case based upon my 35+ years of legal experience. Since I am a sole practitioner, your primary contact will be with me personally. My helpful office staff is always available to provide assistance. I fully understand the incredible stress and heightened emotions involved in family law cases. I will do everything possible to assist you in successfully navigating through what may be one of the worst periods of your life. I thoroughly inform my clients of all possible settlement options and assist you in obtaining an equitable resolution of your case, often through participation in a mediation conference. Clients can save significant time and money by settling their cases, not to mention dramatically minimizing their emotional anguish. Naturally, it is impossible to settle all cases. Therefore, when necessary, I thoroughly prepare your case and will zealously represent your interests through a non jury trial to receive the most satisfactory judicial adjudication possible.

In addition to my professional activities, I have participated in various civic activities. I was a founding member of a former organization called Stepping Stone Inc. which assisted students who were having difficulty within the school system. A major part of said program was a wilderness program which the students and their families participated in to provide them an improved outlook on life. I was also a little league baseball manager/coach for approximately 10 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my extensive time/involvement with the participants in the little league programs in Pinellas County, Florida.
